Self Rim
Self Rim Return Air Grilles feature a rectangular grid pattern and are the preferred style for most flooring surfaces. The grille simply "drops" in to a hole cut in the finish flooring. This versatile style can be used with new or existing hardwood floors, laminate, carpet, tile, or vinyl, with the rim of the grille neatly concealing the cut edge of the finish flooring. Each grille is 3/4" thick with a bull nosed rim that is 1" wide by 3/8" thick. Order grilles by duct opening.

Flush with Frame
Flush with Frame Return Air Grilles feature a rectangular grid pattern and are the preferred style for sand and finish hardwood floors where an architecturally smooth look is desired. Each frame is grooved on the outside to accommodate most 3/4" tongue and groove flooring. All grilles are 3/4" thick, with a 1-3/8" wide frame which adds 2-1/4" to the overall dimension of the grille. Custom thicknesses are available upon request (20% upcharge). Flush Rim Return Air Grilles feature a rectangular grid pattern and are the preferred style for prefinished hardwood floors where an architecturally smooth installation is required. These grilles "drop" in to a pocket routed in the finish flooring. Each vent is 3/4" thick with a standard rim that is 1" wide by 5/16" thick. Custom rim thicknesses are available upon request (20% upcharge). Order grilles by duct opening.

Flush Mount
Flush Mount Return Air Grilles feature a rectangular grid pattern and are used with hardwood floors as independent inserts (without frame) that rest on top of the sub floor and sit flush with the finished floor. These units are primarily used for new hardwood floor installation but may be used with existing hardwood floors. Other applications include wall or ceiling installations where a flush surface is required. Each grille is 3/4" thick with a rail that is 1" wide with straight edges and no undercut. Standard sizes not avilable, order by overall dimensions.
